Our school is more than just a place of learning. It is a home, a health center, and a place of hope for the entire region. We provide a safe, residential environment where children from remote villages receive not only a quality education but also nutritious meals, healthcare, and the support they need to build a brighter future for themselves and their community.
From our founding year to today, everything we do is made possible by the generosity of Tapriza Verein and Friends of Dolpa and donors and volunteers who believe that geography should never determine a child’s destiny!
Founded in 1998, our school has grown to serve students from Early Childhood Development through Grade 10. We have seen over 200 students graduate and pursue higher education, and today, not a single child between the ages of 5 and 16 in our immediate area is out of school or illiterate.
Aside from the school, the organization also works toward local culture and tradition preservation, improving health and sanitation, and environmental protection in the Dolpa region. It has helped conserve chorten and ghumpas and supported infrastructure and scholarships for higher education.
Dolpo Tashi School exists solely because of the generosity of people who believe that every child deserves a chance, no matter how remote their birthplace.
The Nepali government supports our teachers’ base salaries, a contribution we deeply appreciate, but everything else — food, housing, healthcare, warm clothing, and higher education support — is funded entirely by donations and volunteer efforts from around the world.
